YAC/YOUTH LEAD OKC PEACE DAY SERVICE EXPERIENCES

BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB KIDS CARNIVAL AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES GIVE AWAY ON PEACE DAY 9/21/2013

OU, OCU, CASADY SCHOOL YAC, AND YOUTH LEAD OKC joined hands providing a kids carnival @ Boys and Girls Club on 9/21 International Day of Peace.  Pinwheels made by Casady MD,LD, and Primary and Lower Division After School Programs welcome the club  members.  Casady LD peace class pledges were also placed on the path to the carnival.

Youth LEADOKCasady and YAC Chairs Ananya B. and Natasha S. explain the significance of the 11 Days of Unity starting on 9/11 and culminating on 9/21 (Peace Day).

At the Carnival, Youth LEAD teens from Douglas and Mercy School Institute helped make pinwheel decorated pencils to thank the volunteers and connect the day to the carnival participants.  Youth Lead OKC also provided a minute to reflect on thoughts of peace on small pieces of paper.  The thoughts of the children will be part of YLOKC art project being designed by YLOKCasady YAC Junior Chair, Sidney, J.
