Inspiration

We all wish for a good life. Some people think all they have to do is to believe in religion. Others think it’s about the achievement of material wealth or social status. But I believe that a “good life” is one we can feel good about because of the way we’re living it.

Shinjo Ito, Founder of the Shinnyo-en Order

“Today is a new day. You will get out of it just what you put into it...If you have made mistakes, even serious mistakes, there is always another chance for you. And supposing you have tried and failed again and again, you may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call failure is not the falling down, but the staying down.”
Mary Pickford (1892-1979);
actress

Time is precious. How many people can say with confidence that they spend their time in a truly meaningful way? We may not be able to achieve something big with our time, but it would be nice if we could say we used it wisely. — Shinjo Ito, Founder of the Shinnyo-en Order

“It's not so much how busy you are, but why you are busy. The bee is praised. The mosquito is swatted.”
Mary Flannery O'Connor (1925-1964);
Writer

Take responsibility for what you say. — Shinjo Ito, Founder of the Shinnyo-en Order

“Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. Look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. Think only of the best, work only for the best, and expect only the best. Forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. Give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. Live in the faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are true to the best that is in you!”
Christian D. Larson -
New Thought Leader

Just as we take time every day to look at ourselves in the mirror and wash our faces, we must take time to reflect on ourselves and work on our character. — Shinjo Ito, Founder of the Shinnyo-en Order

“Life is an echo. What you send out, comes back. What you sow, you reap. What you give, you get. What you see in others, exists in you. Remember, life is an echo. It always gets back to you. So give goodness. ”
