Evening of the Arts April 9th

1. Executive Board Items
a. Camp Anytown Presentation:  3 representtives came. Provided information and brochures
The Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice-Camp Anytown Leaders
    Recommendations are required only 70 applicants accepted

Camp has Pool, Dance nights, free time, good food, workshops, social economics, good for college applications, learning and don't even know it
There is a fee for the camp, but they also provide scholarships.  Cost should not be a hindering factor to apply.
b. Walk-A-thon, April 1
Any booth ideas?-Talk to Jessica or Sidney.  The one idea provided was a bake sale to which members decided that people do not want to walk and eat cookies at the same time.
c. Self defense Class Project
No update provided
d. Bronco-Cyclone Boom @ Britton Elementary;  Literacy Project
No sign-up until Saturday March 28th, last day to mentor
e May tennis clinic for Boys and Girls Club
No information provided

2. YAC members items
a. Chinese New Year Lunch raised over $1,000 for Half the Sky Foundation
No one from the club was present
b. Sign-up to bring snacks for upcoming meetings-Miranda
There is a new list of members who sign-up.  Miranda needs to remind them
c. Sign-up for Saturday, May 2nd, at MD Community Room, Fedex Strategic Planning Time, 1:30-4:30.  Mrs. Clay
No one has signed up yet, but Tennis coaches have stated that there will not be a problem with the team members because they are planning to be back Friday night.  The community room at the Md has been reserved.  We just need to notify Mr. Fresonke of any special set-up needed.

3. Service-Learning Office Items
a. Sign up to help facilitate PVSA  Introduce speaker, read names of award winners, hand medals to Mrs. Clay and pertinent administrators, Tuesday, April 21.  Mr. Rainbolt, speaker.
We will have cookies and punch.  We need hosts for the YAC celebration after chapel at the Wing
Sara S. is considering helping.  Tara is looking at schedule to help with the cookies and punch reception.  Mrs. Zesiger has been approached to use her flowers from Cum Laude Activity.  
PVSA were ordered on March 15,


b. NVW-GYSD preliminary ideas


INSPIRE, RECOGNIZE (4/21 PVSA), ENCOURAGE VOLUNTEER ACTION on National Volunteer Week and Global Youth Service Days.  300 t-shirts will be provided by the Points of Light Foundation for any volunteers attending the service opportunities during National Volunteer Week and Global Youth Service Days.

Friday, April 17  GYSD  Advocating Quality Education for All
Volunteer at Boys and Girls Club 4:00-6:00 PM.  Reserve your spot at Sign-up genius. t-shirt provided by Points of Light Foundation
Saturday, April 18  GYSD Fighting Hunger and Housing Inequities 
Volunteer at the Food Bank (15 or under).  Mrs. Clay at the Food Bank.  Volunteers need to sign-up directly at the Food Bank website.  Reserve spot at Sign-up genius.  T-shirt provided by the Points of Light Foundation
Volunteer at Habitat for Humanity (16 or older)  No Casady supervision.  15 volunteers needed. Reserve spot at sign-up genius.
Sunday, April 19  GYSD Advocating Healthy Futures
Volunteer at OKC Kids Korral – Prepare dinner for children and their families and provide entertainment.  Create a menu, bring the ingredients.  Reserve your spot at sign-up genius
