Sept. 10, at 11am I have my second section on French 3. I don't know how many of them made bookmarks, but we could come to the library, if not just to fill in with more people. That is 3rd period. It ends at 11:28 and I cannot ensure that we will be able to stay for period 4.
Katherine (Classroom with a Cause) will join on Thursday at 11:31Please make sure you notify your teachers and read all the information sent by Nicole via e-mail.

The efforts you've put into this challenge and the bookmarks you've produced is wonderful! Thank you so much. I'm so excited for you to connect with your peers in Peru and engage in a conversation on literacy.
Start to think of some questions and comments you would like to share with your peers. You can also look through the script I've attached here in this email to get a better idea on what will be discussed during the webcast.
Also below are the panelists who you'll be speaking with on September 10th! Read through each one to learn more about who you'll be engaging with.

We're nearing the webcast! Great news is that both of your schools have successfully tested Google Hangouts on Air and all the equipment you'll be using. The links and timing for all upcoming connections were sent in a previous email, but please let me know if you need me to resend anything. Here are some next steps:
- Script & Info: I'm reattaching the script to help students understand the format of the webcast. Also, below is information about the Luis Pata Center.
- Student Questions: Students can begin to brainstorm questions they'll want to ask their peers in Peru. Each student can have their question ready, but please have 3-5 representatives ready to come up to the microphone and present them on behalf of the class. *As the class prepares their questions, please send them over so we can help the students in Peru to prepare their responses.
- Press & Social Media: Below are the handles and hashtags our organizations are using to promote the event. Feel free to hashtag away! Also, you'll find a Press Release attached if you'd like to promote the event in your local community. Let me know if you have any questions about this.
About the Luis Pata Center
Luis Pata is a smaller town center with a mayor and council, a communal president and a board of directors. It does not have the support of public institutions are evident when compared with others that receive public assistance. The school of Luis Pata is 17 kilometers (30 minutes) away from the province of Andahuaylas. In the community, the residents are mainly engaged in agriculture (corn, potatoes, wheat, quinoa, barley). Livestock farming is done on a small scale, so it is an activity of subsistence and is not commercial. Its agriculture products are sold at fairs and markets in Andahuaylas and Talavera (it’s a district of Andahuaylas province). Although there are several nuclear families (father, mother, children), in Luis Pata, there are many children who are raised by single mothers and their grandparents or other close relatives (aunts, uncles).
