Upper and MD Division Food Bank Speaker: Natalie Price
Next Monday, on October 24, the annual Casady Food Drive will begin and continue throughout October 28.
One in six adults and one in four children in Oklahoma struggle with hunger every year The Casady Cans Do Food and Fund Drive, $1= 5 meals with the Food Bank, is part of the Regional Food Bank Students Against Hunger drive. Oklahoma City students and teachers will raise canned food and monetary donations for those in need in our community.
Last year Casady’s drive donated 9,836 meals for hungry Oklahomans, and this year we aim to donate even more. Collection boxes are at the Student Center, Bennett Athletic Center, and Johnston buildings for the duration of the drive in the UD Division. In the Middle Division, collection boxes are in front of the main office and there will be a competition between houses to see what house collects the most cans. Middle Division will only have a cans collection. No money will be collected in the Middle Division.
Please bring your donations from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. YAC (Youth Active in the Community), the UD service club will contact businesses to match what we donate. YAC firmly believes that by extending our hands out to local businesses we will be able to double our donations.
