-Books for Bodine Elementary:  YAC mentoring project opportunity in August.  Also the possibility to help them build a Kaboom playground in one day.  Possible dates:  August, MLK Day or end of the year, April or May.  YAC members needed to write the grant at Kaboom.  The cost of the playground is 70,000 to 170,000.  The kids design what they want to have at their school.  It is a long process and the grant writing has to start next week.

b. Health - Children's Hospital Placemats.  Craft videos to be shown at children's rooms. Blood drive.  Maybe have children at Children's Hospital make bookmarks.  Juniors facilitate this project focus in a collaborative way with other grades. Mallory and Gabrielle were interested in knitting hats for children undergoing chemotherapy

d. We were looking for another area of focus to replace self-esteem.  Relationship Building was mentioned as a component of National Days of Service  9/11, MLK Day, Peace Week, Kindness Week, National Volunteer Week, Global Youth Service Days.  But this was still left ON THE PARKING LOT UNTIL THE AUGUST FEDEX, date and time TBA by Aubrey and Dylan.  Mrs. Clay also requested bringing back a recognition lunch at the end of the year to thank the YAC leadership and to invite community organizations to reflect on the impact provided by the Cyclone leadership of citywide youth boards.  Parent will be invited.  Will be limited to 100 people and it will be during lunch the first week of May.  May= some form of banquet, (sort of like cum laude lunch)

September:
Peace Week  9/11-9/21   Cathy will call meeting time for Peace Team to plan YAC connections to this week.  Teachers from all divisions are meeting next week to connect their curriculum to this week.  Pinwheels were mentioned at the YAC Fedex invitational, but not making them for quantity like last year, but for quality and with a learning component, which the LD Peace Educator teacher, Mrs. Morgan, would like to be the uniting theme of the Golden Rule Across Religions, creating a Peace Village.

October
Fall fest October 8th

November
Clothes Drive for Teens  -  Teen board of Oklahoma County or Metro Tech Academy.  Dylan will decide after she talks to Anna.

MLK Day:
Food Bank is the favorite with a fun activity which will have greater promotion
We will also explore construction projects for ages 14-16 with Rebuilding Together and 16+ with Habitat for Humanity.  We are also considering the possibility of a Kaboom playground.  Mrs. Clay will make the proper reservations next week.

Peace Week 2015:
Johnny called to order and asked people who wanted to be part of the Peace Week Team 2015 to send him their name and ideas for the week.  There will be a meeting next week, date TBA at 3:30 at the new After School Care to meet Mrs. Morgan and listen to her suggestions.  Mrs. Morgan is a trained peace education teacher.

YAC 2015-2016
Summer Service:  Aubrey came late because she had a junior meeting to attend.  She reminded everyone that service opportunities for the summer are available at the Casady Places to Serve Blog.

YAC FEDEX in the summer-August:  Officers, calendar will be covered then.
Mrs. Clay will send an e-mail to all members and ask who wishes to be part of the "Planning Team-YAC Executive Board"  Ananya nominated as Co-Presidents: Aubrey and Dylan and as Vice-President: Johnny.  Mrs. Clay will ask for confirmation and then send the list of positions open to people who have earned  the right by attendance to meetings and facilitation of projects.

Senior Send-Off
Members wrote inspirational post-its in the reflective/inspirational jars for senior leaders, members of the Executive Board: Jessica, Sidney and Taylor.  Chase and Jessika received goodie bags.

1. Dates for delivery of
a. Placemats to Children Hospital.  UPDATE  Placemats were delivered on Tuesday May 12.  The YAC officers had a tour of the Zone by Belinda Anderson, Zone's Volunteer Coordinator.  Belinda requested YAC consideration of making videotaped crafts to broadcast to children in their rooms.

b. Books to Bodine:  Ananya will provide time and date for  the delivery.  Angie, from Come and Read with Me wants to attend the delivery of the books.  Ananya and Dylan delivered the Come and Read with Me Program books to Bodine Elementary.  In a conversation with the Assistant Principal of the school, YAC was invited to volunteer at Bodien during the summer months.  She also made Mrs. Clay aware that the Kaboom Playground is something Bodine wanted to have, but did not get grant money to have it build.  They have done all the preliminary investigation and if their is a YAC member willing to spend time in June writing a grant proposal to Kaboom, we might make their dream of a playground in the middle of their walking trail to be  reality.  Now, they only have a small playground and a lot of outdoor space in need of TLC.  Any Kaboom Grant Writers?

c. Bookmarks:  Ananya received and counted donation from Come and Read with me Program with Johnny and Isabelle during the cancelled meeting.  Over 4.000 bookmarks counted.  The service-learning office received the following e-mail from the Youth Rebuilds Bookmark /Literacy Challenge.  Update: 7,832 bookmarks were counted and are ready to be sent after Memorial Weekend to the Bezos Foundation.  On a telephone conversation with the Bezos Foundation, Valerie Slone, she requested YAC's consideration of a skype conversation with the children from Peru who will be receiving the bookmarks in September 2015.  It will be a 45 minute commitment in the morning.  The new schedule will allow such an exciting opportunity to be a reality because we could set-it up during the activities period which now will be 45 minutes long.  Valerie will send the information to Mrs. Clay who also suggested a collaboration with the Spanish Club.  The only YAC project in the agenda for next year is the Pulsera Project for Guatemala, which is another collaboration with the Spanish Club.

We are less than one month away from the end of the Literacy Challenge! Don’t forget – the deadline to mail in your bookmarks is June 5th, 2015. We’d like to thank you for registering for the Challenge, and if you haven’t sent in your bookmarks yet – now is the time to do so!
Your action, creativity, and collective efforts will help bring books and literacy resources to students through Save the Children’s Literacy Boost programs in Peru, Nepal and Mali. Continue to check our snazzy bookmark counter to see how close we are to our goal, and help make it rise by sending your bookmarks to:

From Aubrey, YAC  CO-PRESIDENT 2015-2016

1.       What is our theme going to be?  We did not have a forum to make this decision at the FEDEX

2.       What months are each grade going to take over to do their projects? Who is going to take charge of the projects and what will they be?  This has to be handled at a planning meeting at the end of May after exams are over.  We did not have a forum of participants to make this decision

3.       How can we continue Ananya's bookmark project? Name, phone number, and email of sponsor?
Bodine Elementary connection will be made when we deliver the books.  The program with Britton elementary needs to be explored independent of Bronco Boom from UCO if we re interested in continuing.  The bookmark project is a global initiative with information located at Students Rebuild http://www.studentsrebuild.org/

4.       Continuing to make Place Mats for children's hospital Sidney is leaving several bags of bookmarks to make for next year, if YAC decides that this is one of the service learning experiences they want to embrace.

5.       Pinwheels  On parking lot

6.       Do Johnny and Turner want to plan Peace Week again? On parking lot

7.       Appoint exec board people for next year and get their numbers and emails.  Ananya nominated co-presidents and vice president at the FEDEX.  We need to make sure people want to accept that responsibility for next year.  Other offices need to be proposed to the people who have earned the right for their involvement in the club, but the recommendation of the FEDEX was to
a. Define the expectations of the position
b. Connect to personal preferences, talents and interests
c. Check availability of time looking at calendar and personal schedules

Calendar:  Decide on monthly projects that correlate with the year's theme  On parking lot.  Recommendation to pick overarching theme, develop goals and objectives.  Then place experiences (projects) that will inspire others to serve.  Highly recommended a several hours meeting to work on this at the end of May and revisit in August before school starts.   Meetings should not just be to discuss possible projects, but should build skills.  Executive Board needs to set-up the agenda.  Mrs. Clay will continue to place items in the blog, but the Planning Team/Executive Board needs to decide what items will be advertise by the Media and Marketing Team for the Week.  Announcements need to be sent to coach T about the chosen volunteer opportunity/service-learning experience sponsored by YAC on a weekly basis.

Agendas need to be set at executive board meetings.  Mrs. Clay can still place items that come to her office in the blog as agenda items, but the board needs to have full ownership of the agendas.  A recommendation is that at every meeting a skill is also developed, like relationship building activities, learning about S-L, leadership skills, etc.

The ideas Safra and Mariam wanted to share were the Pulsera Project, and having a theme centered on children's education.  Mallory and Gabrielle are interested in knitting hats for Children's Hospital babies and Children undergoing chemotherapy.  Service-Learning has purchased 3 sets of supplies to make the "pilot hats."

YAC Food Drive 2014
A Note from Sara Shobeiri
Freshman YAC Chair

Students Against Hunger, "Casady Cans Due," is asking for the Casady Community's help to succeed.

The Upper Division's Youth in Action in the Community (YAC) looked at the statistics and reports that it is not uncommon for people who live in our city to be struggling with hunger. Oklahoma is among the 10 hungriest in the nation. The Regional Food Bank feeds 110,000 hungry Oklahomans every week. If every Casady student brings a mere six cans of food a day, we will collect more than 26,000 cans. Can you imagine what we CAN do? I CAN.

The most needed non-perishable food donations are canned meats, soups, sauces, canned beans, brown rice, pasta, canned fruits and vegetables, and peanut butter. Also $1 can provide up to five meals. Make checks payable to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, Casady Food Drive.

Collection boxes will be clearly present and easily accessible in each division from Friday, Oct. 31, to Friday Nov. 7.

Together, we CAN set the new Casady standard.

Follow drive updates at the Casady Students Against Hunger Blog. http://casadystudentsagainsthunger.blogspot.com

10/14/2014 and 10/17/2014  Meetings resulted in YAC taking action in three areas of service

a. Rainbow Fleet rainbowfleet.org YAC Executive Board members volunteered cleaning toys and making packets for upcoming fundraiser from 10-noon on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at the Rainbow Fleet Resource Center @ 3024 Paseo, rainbowfleet.org.

Casady Service-Learning and YAC were able to sponsor 3 daycare centers thanks to the generosity of the Rainbolt Family Service-Learning Fund, Aubrey's family donation, and Aubrey's vision to bring this wonderful organization as one of the main organizations sponsored by YAC this year.

Rainbow Fleet is a YAC Junior Class project.  The project focuses on building self-esteem in children.  Project leader Aubrey H. stated " Rainbow Fleet's Resource Center provides toys and educational materials to child care providers in the greater Oklahoma City community. The materials that the Center provides teach infants and children fine motor skills, literacy, counting, science, etc.  Working with Rainbow Fleet and volunteering in the Resource Center was an amazing opportunity! Rainbow Fleet does an amazing job nominating needy child care centers to receive memberships to the Resource Center. Every child care center that is a member of the Resource Center greatly benefits from the toys and educational materials provided to them. Rainbow Fleet is paving the roads for the future of our community by building strong minds and bodies in infants and children. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to work with this great organization!"

Casady Service-Learning also bought a membership for resources to be shared with clubs and classes like beginning level language classes.

YAC began making collection boxes on Tuesday and finished on Friday during B-block.

The Food Drive is a freshman project with guidance and support from the Executive Board and the whole YAC membership.

The senior leadership has divided the freshmen class in different groups under the support of members of the Executive Board.  Students helping the Food Drive in other divisions need to be back in class on time.  Minimum of 5 people per shift.  At least one member of each shift should have first hour off to help count cans after morning donations are finished.

Mrs. Crossno attended the Friday meeting and offered to have time in her class to help the freshman organize their first project.

Mrs. Crossno called for inspiring students to give without outside incentives.

Ideas proposed
a. # 30/30
b. Use social media  motivational devises and daily reminders

Mrs. Clay shared what other classes had done in the past and requested consideration of applying the service learning tenants to the organization of this project.

Freshmen Safra and Mariam  Sh. emerged as the leading facilitators of this project.  They made a list of ideas to be discussed at next meeting and they spent an hour reinforcing boxes.

Jessica G., Sidney J., Taylor B., Aubrey H., Miranda T., and Johnny L., met from 10:00 to noon on May 27 @ the Casady Harper Wing to share  ideas about YAC's mission, vision, purpose, goals, objectives, and hurdles to overcome aiming to enhance the goal of getting YAC back on track in 2014-2015.

The FedEx Time was facilitated by Ms. Cory King, Human Resources Manager of American Energy Partners, L.P.  and is on the board of You are special, a non-profit created by her mother, Rebuilding Together, and Medical Missions to Honduras.

Miranda T. selected Gigi's cupcakes ($39) and drinks ($10) for the meeting.  She also selected the thank you gift for Mrs. King ($10).  A box of Mrs. King's favorite chocolates was delivered by Johnny at the end of the meeting.  Miranda also helped select a retirement card for departing teachers and a coffee/tea and chocolate maker for the Tea Time or Coffee Break with service-learning; the new name of the s-l reflective time.  YAC and service-learning covered the cost of meals for 4 volunteer musicians at a faculty retirement party as a token of gratitude for May's Teacher Appreciation Week  The cost of the meals for the 4 musicians was $80.

Minutes and pictures by Mrs. Clay for YAC E-Board members to fully participate in the meeting.

Introduction Ice Breaker

The group shared personal sanctuary, what they value most in their family, what they personally give to the community, and what makes each person who they are.  Icebreaker activity came from YLOKC Communication and Project Management training.

Strategic Planning

Strategic Planning: Brainstorming

Mission

- Connect through service. Work on E-Board, YAC. Help, literally any where I can. Travel, OC/Boston
-Unite a community (Casady) through service
- Make a difference in the community(Casady/OKC). Awareness of community involvement
-Help the community through acts of service.  Connect the Casady community.
-Connect Casady Community through service
-Peace at the Heart of service
People of all ages as daily entrepreneurs of peace and social justice, leaders of today not tomorrow.
Goals
Key areas of strategic goals which, if met, fulfill the mission
-To Perfect grant writing/fundraising.  Network everywhere I go.  Connect with already established business. Notify, specify, execute.  Annual big activity
-For everyone to come together to help a bigger cause
-Raise money. Get People out helping in the community.  Get people to take interest in charity connections
-Bring school together to help the community.  Make a difference.
-Plan activities for school year. Pick an organization to focus on. Get people more involved
-Connect youth  and adults to service opportunities and resources where they can do experiential learning and enhance academic and life skills in real life settings.  Connect youth and adults to service learning stages, best practices, and national  standards as  resource sfor enhancing 21st century skills.  Facilitate direction of positive energy,  passions to be the change we want to see through projects of the  mind, actions of the heart where recipients and providers of service reflect, connect, and act..   Empower understanding that through reciprocal giving we learn, grow and transform into global citizens who hold in our daily interactions the hope for peace one day
Objectives
Specific, measurable, achievable
relevant,
temporal
-Connect organizations (Profit/non-profit).  Write more grants. Have a TIDE Conference in OKC-UCO. 2 activities a month. Service Opp. Calendar. Connect to STUCO
 To -Build a stronger community
-Specify an focus on certain charities. Fundraisers
-Weekly meeting
-Plan activities for school year. Pick an organization to focus on. Get more people involved.
-Empower youth/faculty voice and choice initiatives of servant leadership with resources, and implementation of service learning national standards for best practices
Guiding Principles
Values of the organization
We believe
- Togetherness of group.  Separate unique ideas
-Together we fight
-We believe in service, love, faith fullness
-Youth in Action in the Community
-We can make a difference
- Global Peace begins in the classroom and the homes. If we change our I to WE peace one day has a chance.  Give, Grow, Transform
Critical Success Factors
Nouns with conditions i.e. Effective Change Agents
-Go Getting students. Leaders with Drive
-Working effectively as a group
-Effective outreaches. Servants. Facilitators of Change
-?
-?
-Entrepreneurs of Peace and Social Change.  School to Work. Transforming experimental learning. Secret Agents of Compassion. Engineers of a compassionate world. Peace one day  Builders
Barriers
(Obstacles, Challenges)
-$, people/volunteers, drive
-Administration
-Money issues-low funds. Time commitments
-Money. Consistent group. Schedule
-High school students motivation
-Time, culture of the school keeping "experiential learning" as a log priority. Small budget and no time in the regular school schedule for meaningful time to be spent in the community.  YAC commitment and challenges in prioritizing YAC activities during school year.  If on schedule, Other clubs , faculty, administration, chapel  prioritizing their activities over regular scheduled YAC activities,  Lack of proactive outspoken leadership from the s-l director of the value of the program at all levels.  Get other clubs to  have strategic planning
Action Plan
Overcoming Barriers and Achieving Results
- Grants. Network, make service-learning fun
-to get administration behind our projects
-Meetings. Planning
-Plan well. Spread word more efficiently
-Find fun ways to get more people involved.  Pick something that most people will care about
-Fight personal fears to improve communication at all levels.  Improve English skills during the summer. Learn how to play the guitar, how to do video editing, and how to draw to bring the message through a diversity of mediums.  Connect personal passion to a need in the community and become an example of best practices.  Have a full calendar on the main calendar.  Promote great focus and organization of YAC activities based on a summer strategic planning for the full year
Deliverables
How we'll know we're successful?
-Conference
-When people start wanting to come to meetings and events
-Producing money (donations). Smiles
-Completing projects
-When we have several activities planned that the school community shows interest in
- When service is an intrinsic positive relationship value we hold dear, not just an avenue  to promote personal agendas (popularity, power, social agency, college resume building),requirement completion -which are unexpected results of being the agents of the change we want to see. When we prioritize time, money and commitment to Education of the Heart, because education of the mind and body without education of the heart is no education at all. When volunteerism is valued but service learning is treasured and the community will suffer if the were to disappear.  When we are proud of Peace Week and being Agents of Compassion

Mrs. King provided a reflective handout aimed to finding where YAC is, where YAC wants to be, what hurdles YAC needs to overcome to get to the results YAC wants, and how will YAC measure their results.  For example:

Success or Failure:
Diaper Driver: Over 21,000 diapers by two UD student bodies combined. One Day Activity. Incentive: Service Hours.   This project will be connected to Gales next year.  This is what we want...other organizations to do service!!!  No hours incentive for service learning next year, but possible points for Gales.

Food Drive: Low involvement  from UD.  No incentive!, YAC students involved at all levels: 10 per day of drive. Food Bank donation drive end result lower than in previous year.  Possible solution for the UD:  Money drive instead of can drive for UD, but with some learning component or it runs the risk of not being approved by administration and/or Mrs. Clay.

Conclusions of the Meeting

More structured YAC for greater buy in the culture of the school
How?
Focused  Organization

Theme of the year: Children

-Full calendar  connected to National Days of service on School Calendar by August

-Change the date of meetings, Fridays have too many conflicts

- YAC E- Board: Over e-mail we discussed the structure of E-YAC Board.  "Regarding another item provided as YAC improvement,  Could you place the E-YAC Board proposal as a second agenda item for the June meeting?.  I know Jessica, Taylor and Sidney welcome YAC in their schedules next year, but I have not heard from the rest of the students in the proposed slate and there are non-senior YAC chairs who, if given the opportunity, might welcome facilitating or co-facilitating the proposed positions.   Also, How will we be designating YAC chairs next year and connecting them to the YAC E-Board? and How are we going to handle that some students on the E-Board didn't fully participate or do their jobs to the full potential? There should be a team approach in the answer of these questions because whatever the decision is, consequences have to be reinforced by the E-board as a team.

Full E-Board must attend the YAC invitational in August.  If you are interested in recruiting new E-Board members for your class, please do so in the months of June and July.   E-board members have to have a personal project to facilitate and their conduct as project chairs is guided by the description of duties and project management responsibilities sent at the end of the school year.  See them at http://casadyacleads.blogspot.com/2014/05/last-yac-meeting-of-year-friday-may-9-b.html which has the expectation of timely e-mail responses. So far we have the following YAC Chairs

Class of 2015: Senior YAC E-Board Co-Chairs
Jessica G.-ICS Diaper Drive, Gales President, YAC E-board Co-Chair
Sidney J.-Project on Food Waste, Founding member of YLOKC, YAC E-Board Co-Chair
Taylor B.  YAC E-Board Treasurer, YLOKC member, no project provided yet.

Class of  2016: Junior YAC E-Board Chairs
Aubrey H.- Children's Hospital, YAC E-board composition project

Class of 2017: Sophomore YAC E-Board Chairs
Ananya B., Somos, Peace Week, Now and Then, YLOKC Planning Committee
Johnny L. Peace Week, YAC Guide to Student Life, STEM?, YLOKC-TIDE?
Miranda T., Peace Week, Children's Hospital Dance Marathon?, YAC freshmen transition team?

Class of 2018: Freshmen YAC E-Board Chairs
Kira S. (Will not attend June 18 meeting)

Other students who have expressed interest via e-mail
Turner Waddell:  Will not be a YAC Chair but is part of  Peace Week Team
Hunter Stack: Expressed interest, but has not follow-up, YLOKC member

Engaging Meetings
-Well planned meetings with goal, purpose, objective, and activities.  Not just get them to a meeting.  Members will prioritize YAC because of service hours, food, and for social and personal reasons.  YAC leadership needs to involve them in activities with purpose to keep their interest.  Meetings have to be well planned, not just come and go with whatever is in mind at the time. Time is a valuable commodity that must be respected as such.  The well planned calendar and perhaps regular monthly tea time E-board meetings "to see the month ahead "will be helpful.
Food for Thought:  Should YAC charge a fee to belong since we provide food for all meetings or Fall Fest funds will take care of this YAC expense?
Improved Communication
-Calendar of events on main calendar by early August with defined Why, How and Who is responsible for doing what. Miss Infantino manages the school calendar.  Copies of calendar requests need to be sent to Mrs. Clay and Coach T.

Dates placed on School Calendar at the May Calendar Meeting

Peace Teen Team: Miranda T., Johnny L., Ananya B., Cathy Z., Claire D., and Turner W.

b. Hunger Week: 10/31-11/7 Students Against Hunger-Casady Cans Do Food Drive. Facilitated by YAC E-Board. UD: October 31-November 6 (SPC is on Friday). Other Divisions May have a Friday collection with non SPC YAC helping early morning collection.  Faculty team for this week: Mrs. Clay, Mr. Crofton, Mrs. May, Father Youmans, Mrs. France, Mrs. Sharp.  The project  needs more can costumes.  We should have three cans in each division, including UD!  Hope to have the football team and cheerleaders make a pro drive video??  Will love to have collaboration with Gales and STUCO!

c. MLK Day: National Day of Service.1/19  YAC E-Board facilitated project, default s-l program location: Food Bank

c. National Volunteer Week 4/12-4/16  Presidential/Congressional Awards, Ice Cream Volunteer Fair at Wing, YAC Ice Cream Social for Award Winners and graduating seniors.  Facilitating Team:  Mrs. Clay, Mr. Crofton and interested YAC chairs and members. Global Youth Service Days: 4/17-4/18:  Possible weekend for dance marathon at Children's Hospital or OKC Kids Korral. Default Service Learning Program Project: Food Bank Volunteering Days

d. Teacher Appreciation Week; New Project: Possible collaboration with all clubs. Service Learning Celebration and Demonstration of Learning through service: "Sobremesa Banquet"  May 7, 2015, Wing, 7:00 PM
-Monthly calendar banners at each building to remind people of YAC activities
-Weekly STUCO announcements in chapel of only ONE YAC activity.  Mrs. Milligan manages the DA.  Copies of DA requests need to be sent to Mrs. Clay and coach T. and must be approved by YAC Board
-YAC Guide to Student Life at Casady School.  The Activities Fair is more about the food than the clubs.
-In addition to blog news, Mrs. Clay and YAC E-Board need to communicate via push page a couple of times a year with parents and faculty: YAC/S-L/YLOKC

SUGGESTIONS FOR ENHANCED COMMUNICATION

a.  YAC Grade level meetings facilitated by YAC E-Board Grade Chairs

b. Introduction of YAC at beginning of year @ chapel by Mrs. Clay
c. Service-Learning Tea Time on YAC meeting days, Once a month required for for YAC E-Board- Anyone interested!  Service hours offered for investigating information and for reflecting projects during tea time.  S-L purchased a coffee/tea/chocolate machine for that purpose.  $125.

C. Facilitation of a clubs' fair during Freshmen Orientation will be a great way to connect YAC to all clubs, club presidents and club sponsors.  YAC Chairs president of clubs to my knowledge: Jessica G. (Gales), Yogaish K. (Environmental Club), Sidney J. (YAC-YLOKC)

D. Ice Cream Socials/ Service-Learning Open Houses the first week of School featuring YAC projects in the Wing Garden or Student Center facilitated by the YAC chairs of projects.
Interaction with the Casady Community
a. More UD faculty involvement: Advisory System, One event similar to MD Foster Care Children Party (Investigate if that is no longer part of the MD Calendar).  Connections with Athena Day may also be possible!

b. The purpose does not justify the means.  UD YAC teens from freshmen to seniors are role models for K-8 students.  Watch the message and the
messengers. YAC will not take funding from any questionable sources or denigrate any one to a subhuman condition.  Mrs. Clay feels very strongly about this area.
c. Enhanced participation of parents as human capital. ie  Cory has a teen son.
d. Demonstration of Learning Banquet in May facilitated by Mrs. Clay:  Guest list: Community organizations, E-board, YAC chairs, President and Congressional Award Winners.  There is no YAC Award (everyone gets service hours), but there should be an official time to recognize and thank time spent in YAC.  Usually community organization recognize sustainable commitment to a need during the awards assembly. This year a Boys Scouts Troop provided $1,250 to Emily Faulkner for her WoHelo, highest Camp Fire Award.

Hurdles to Overcome
1. YAC is not cool.
"It is like the Peace Corps, the hardest job you will ever love!"
2. Personal (E-board, administration, Mrs. Clay) agendas in conflict with calendar items
Place items in school calendar;courtesy of notification of changes
3. Lack of welcomed collaboration with other student organizations
Develop partnerships for projects
4. Unexpected conflicts
Flexibility without giving up completion of set goals
5. Lack of time to connect to YAC activities from students, teachers, parents
When there is interest, time is prioritized
To Do List
-Calendar of Activities will be the goal of the June 18, 3:00 PM, facilitated by Sidney J. Each grade was assigned an area to investigate
a. Perspective Organizations have to be contacted
b. Organization's need and how YAC can help MUST be investigated
c. Time of the year to be connected to that need has to be brought to 7/18.
d. Interaction focused on building sustainable relationships with fundraising as by product, not main focus.  IE: Somos Project: 3rd grade reading scores improvement program, grant funding possible, if not, in-kind donations!

Identify one key activity/Experience/Project per month.

Key events scheduled in giving month (December/February) or not (everyone is doing it then)

- Johnny L. will create a YAC guide to Student Life/clubs listing compilation.  The guide's first draft is due June 18th. Why? Improve communication  Target Audience: New students, freshmen, and anyone seeking information about YAC and school activities. UPDATE:  Coach McHargue requested YAC to facilitate a clubs fair for f9th graders during freshmen orientation week.  The Clubs fair will provide an opportunity for freshmen to meet the leadership of the clubs and find their mission, vision, purpose and tentative calendar of events. It will also provide the opportunity for the Dean of the Freshmen to be more connected to YAC and help promote it throughout the year to incoming freshmen in the MD.

Suggestions from  Coach McHargue, Dean of Freshmen:
(YAC and Mrs. Clay need to communicate more with Coach.  He can be our biggest cheerleader and has great ideas!)

What is important for the freshmen and new possible YAC members:  Information should be relevant and stated in a fun way.  Suggestion: Profiles of cool YAC recent graduates and how they did it all, example; Chandler Helms, Emily Faulkner . Calendar of a few projects, not the whole year..overwhelming!
Mrs. Clay talked to Coach T. about bringing back the freshmen view book

What is important to sophomores: Maybe not a lot of say in STUCO, YAC is your place to make a difference.  How? Facilitate a project in your area of interest, passion or a subject you want to learn experientially in the community.

YAC Interaction with 8th grade:  Handle Pizza days for the 8th graders and advertise YAC to them before they get to high school.  Do not say YAC which could be interpreted negatively, make sure you spell out what it means  Youth in Action in the Community!

Research to bring to next meeting:  Google and call volunteer, outreach or human resources coordinator.  If time allows, visit the organization

We all wish for a good life. Some people think all they have to do is to believe in religion. Others think it’s about the achievement of material wealth or social status. Chapel was long, seniors had a picture after chapel, therefore no seniors had the opportunity to attend.  The senior speaker gave a formal apology to Mrs. Clay for his remarks regarding YAC chapel announcements at the end of his speech.

There will not be YAC chapel announcements at chapel on Wednesdays anymore.  Please keep up with the DA for service opportunities.  If YAC has an announcement, the YAC chair facilitating the project will have to do the announcement at chapel or request STUCO's spokesperson to do so.

YAC Exec an YLOKC was sent a special reminder to attend the meeting since we had not only a guest speaker, but also a reporter from the Daily Oklahoman.  Mrs. Clay thanks all who participated and made our guests feel welcomed.

Objectives: Hear guests project proposal
Activities: Pennies as Promise Project Presentation

Sponsored by the Jewish Federation in collaboration with the Respect Diversity Foundation, the sixth grade teacher whose students started Pennies as Promise project https://www.facebook.com/PenniesAsPromise/info brought to YAC's attention the mission of the project on Friday, 04/26/2014 during B-block.  Pennies as Promise is a class project to collect pennies to name and honor children who were victims of the Holocaust. 6th grade students from Cairo, Illinois are collecting pennies to memorialize children who were victims of the Holocaust.  By honoring the children of the Holocaust and telling their story, of the students from Cairo, Illinois hope to raise awareness of what hate can caused and "do something" to stop hate.

The students mailed letters to the surviving families and receive responses from known children killed...over one million...

A collection pail was left at the Service-Learning Office at the Wing.

YAC has a copy of the video presentation!  One of the inspirational songs in the video is a song from the movie South Pacific, You have to be Carefully thaught!

The Cairo students were inspired by the Paper Clip Project.

(From Wikipedia)  The Paper Clips Project, by middle school students from the small southeastern Tennessee town of Whitwell, created a monument for the Holocaust victims of Nazi Germany. It started in 1998 as a simple 8th-grade project to study other cultures, and then evolved into one gaining worldwide attention. At last count, over 30 million paper clips had been received. Paper Clips, an award-winning documentary film about the project, was released in 2004 by Miramax Films.[1]

Hi coach T! I meant to get this done Saturday but totally forgot! Anyways YAC would like to do an Easter Egg hunt!

Date: (hopefully) April 15th during lunch (for lunch we would do a barbecue with all divisions like it is done at the fall Pep Rally.)

Where: the sports Fields

How/what: the Easter egg hunt would include Upper, Middle and Lower. There would be three different fields for the three different divisions.

Reason: For the Upper school students to participate they must bring a box of kid bandaids. We are going to ask that the middle school does and candy drive to supply the candy for the Easter egg hunt and that the lower does an egg drive so we can have eggs to stuff.

Stuffing: The Easter eggs would need to be stuffed at some point and we were also hoping that YAC could have and out to lunch meeting on April 11th. We would supply the food and while stuffing eggs we would watch The Girl Raising with Mr. Crawfton(because Mrs. Clay will be out of town).

Last part: We would also like to do an all week Easter egg hunt. It would be one egg hidden somewhere on campus that has and out of uniform pass and off campus pass inside it. Whoever finds the egg will get an off campus and out of uniform for their grade.

Thanks! For reading this if you want anymore details please feel free to ask! Jessica

Hi Jessica!

First you need to contact the division directors and ask them would they agree with. This is a very short notice. I have to contract Sage and let them know. When you say the only way the participate if they bring bandaids how will that be monitored and what will they do if not participating? Not sure if that out to lunch is going to work. We are having way to many right now. They can get one or the other not both for finding the egg.

Hopes this helps.

Coach T
Nice job!

Have you contacted division directors, including Dr. Philipson?

Looking forward to a creative idea on how to monitor donations in an efficient way.

Do you think we can pair people ahead of time via sign-up genius so there is more opportunity for relationship building??   Groups form as they sign-up.  Maybe too complicated?????

If you do not get the out to lunch on the 11, you still can decorate eggs as efficiently as possible.  We only have decorating and screening of Girl Rising in the agenda.  If you just get the 30 freshmen in YAC you have a great "human capital" force to stuff the majority of the eggs.  You might be too late for the egg drive (information to parents goes on Tuesdays)...Consider contacting Father Blizzard and getting the kids on other drives!   In the MD your supporting group, could be the International Club...Talk to Mrs. Robertson too!!!

Great start!!!  Good luck, the process of turning an idea into a reality is rewarding!  GO JESSICA!!!
From Jessica to Mrs. Clay Could you forward my plan to the other divisions I won't be able to do it tell Saturday and it needs to be soon!
Dear Division Directors, Father Blizzard and Mrs. Robertson,

I am forwarding this e-mail on behalf of Jessica Greene with a project collaboration request.

Thank you for your time and consideration of Jessica's proposal, Carmen Clay

My Lower School 3rd graders will be gone on a field trip on April 15.
Anne

Please let me know if you get this.  I place all this communication below the minutes taken by Aubrey at the Easter Egg Meeting.  None took minutes of the last meeting so I just placed what I remember since we had a short meeting due to out to lunch for Crazy Fun Week

Strategic Planning/Lunch/Ice Cream Social
My suggestion of dates for  the Strategic Planning Invitational will be May 29 in the afternoon and 30 in the morning.  3 hours each with food and snacks provided by CPO.  That would also be the time for the banquet or ice cream social celebrating YAC and community organizations.  After the prom, if we have the meeting from 2-5 on the 29th and from 10-3 with lunch and speaker included.  Let me know what hurdles we need to overcome.  The location will be the wing or a site suggested by the facilitator of the Invitational...invite Exec and members to reflect on what we have done together, see what direction we want to take next year and how we can get there.  My personal goal is for YAC to be proactive instead of reactive and have a calendar set for the school year 2014-2015 at the end of the two days.

From Mr. France and Miss Larsen
Carmen and Jessica,
What a cute idea but at this time it is not going to be possible for LD.  We have so much going on and all of my 3rd graders will be gone on that day.  The next week we begin our ERB testing so it is a week of test prep also.
-Boys and Girls Club Tennis Clinic: Dylan was absent

Mrs. Clay Banquet Day:  No work has been done on this, but it will be in May in combination with Strategic planning and requesting help from CPO

Introduction Ice Breaker

The group shared personal sanctuary, what they value most in their family, what they personally give to the community, and what makes each person who they are.  Icebreaker activity came from YLOKC Communication and Project Management training.

Empower understanding that through reciprocal giving we learn, grow and transform into global citizens who hold in our daily interactions the hope for peace one day
Objectives

Barriers
(Obstacles, Challenges)
-$, people/volunteers, drive
-Administration
-Money issues-low funds. Time commitments
-Money. Consistent group. Schedule
-High school students motivation
-Time, culture of the school keeping "experiential learning" as a log priority. Small budget and no time in the regular school schedule for meaningful time to be spent in the community.  YAC commitment and challenges in prioritizing YAC activities during school year.  If on schedule, Other clubs , faculty, administration, chapel  prioritizing their activities over regular scheduled YAC activities,  Lack of proactive outspoken leadership from the s-l director of the value of the program at all levels.  Get other clubs to  have strategic planning

Dates placed on School Calendar at the May Calendar Meeting
 a. Peace Week 9/11(National Day of Service)-9/21(International Day of Peace) Projects and process facilitated by Peace Team.  Spanish I Class will have projects in the curriculum. Requested chapel time in all divisions from Father Blizzard.  Faculty-team working on this week:  Father Blizzard, Mrs. Clay, Mr. Crofton, Mrs. Robertson, Father Youmans, Mrs. France, Mrs. Morgan, Mrs. Alexander, Mr. Bush, Mr. Lopez, Mrs. Sharp, Mrs. Czerwinski, Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Hubber .

But I believe that a “good life” is one we can feel good about because of the way we’re living it. Shinjo Ito, Founder of the Shinnyo-en Order

"I enjoy getting updates on how everyone is doing and how open to suggestions everyone is."
"Need more time somehow for meetings, but for the time we have currently, we are using it well."
"YAC is doing an excellent work and has an impressive amount of service activities at one time.  Things to improve are: Awareness: How students can get involved, where to look for opportunities to get involved."
" We are doing great.  We have good facilitation.  Great group of people.  To get better: Follow through with more projects and ideas.  Try to get more involvement from the student body."
" I think the meetings go ok, but we do not have time to discuss everything."
"I feel like the meeting have been going better.  We spent a lot of time reflecting.  I wish that we focus more on our projects and got impact from everybody in YAC."
"We mostly help.  We feel good about the community.  It helps me understand how I can help the community."
"I think that these meetings really help create effective ideas for helping the community.  People often contribute new service ideas.

From YL Sharon Trainer on feedback and debriefing:
- YAC connections to YLOKCasady Training Team ON PARKING LOT, but Yogaish, Jessica, Sidney, and Aubrey provided feedback and debriefing of meeting.  A need for a more focused direction was a common denominator. YLOKCasady, Hunter, emerged as lead facilitator and great feedback provider during debriefing.

Take what you need, absorb it and use it to become a better facilitator and person.

Follow-up e-mail from Mrs. Clay
Thank you to Dylan for a great treat and to Jessica for setting up the meeting with such a short notice.  Also MERCI to Johnny and Turner for attending the meeting and providing the technical assistance needed to have everything ready in case the information was needed.

 Feedback and debriefing:
No time to plan the meeting on Friday.
Mrs. Johnson will come to propose an advocacy service opp at the library for MLK Day!
I will facilitate a reflection of hours based on today's experience.  If anyone wants to co-facilitate, please see ME!  I will bring grapes for the meeting as a new year's cultural connection to the Hispanic World and an ice breaker for reflection of each month of the year 2013.  Hope to have a VERY brief discussion of possibilities for the month of February.  Check calendars at the YAC blog  http://casadyacleads.blogspot.com/.  Prepare your reflection in back of the attached reflection paper.  You will have 1 minute to speak and 30 seconds to hear feedback from the club members.  They will reflect their hours as well following your example.  Busy meeting, little time.  Yogaish will keep time since he is coming again as a process observer to give me feedback and keep me focused!

Reflect 2013
The way to reflect by what "you liked best: was not as productive as the Chairs taking a project and reflecting their involvement in it.  Powerful was the feedback given by the group.   Thank you Aubrey (YWCA), Jessica and Sidney (Children Hospital) for your quick, on the spot reflections.

Plan 2014:  See my attached s-l plan for 2013 It seemed that we were spinning around on MLK and we spent too much time brainstorming and going in so many directions, I got lost.  I am still unclear on what you all what to do and who is responsible for doing what.   Whatever it is that you all decide to do, needs to be completed by Monday before school starts.  The information about MLK Day @ the Food Bank will be made public tomorrow as a save the date announcement by Natasha or Maggie.

Senior YAC Chairs: MLK Day @ Food Bank: Easy way to get hours.  Mrs. Clay has done the leg work for this project.  She will be the site supervisor.  There is already a sign-up genius at http://casadymlkday.blogspot.com/.  This blog is only for MLK Day news, sign-ups, and emerging project. The Points of Light Foundation and MLK.Gov has requested documentation of all we do for MLK Day.
Seniors will speak on behalf of MLK @ Chapel.  Mrs. Clay is looking for a chapel speaker for the seniors to introduce.  Speaker should motivate students to reflect on MLK's Legacy and doing something for others.

Emily, Katie and Jessica will contact Dr. Philipson regarding competition between grades on MLK Day.

Other grade chairs will create a project, clear it with administration, get an adult sponsor, get flyer and information for the MLK Day blog to me by Monday morning.

Hunter did not want to go to the Food Bank.  He will work with sophomores and go to ARF?  I am not sure where the sophomores are in what organization they want to sponsor.

Jessica will check with  ICS.
Hunter will make a twitter account for YAC.  Guidelines were discussed about its content provided that Dr. Philipson approves it.
Who will check on Children's Hospital?...Sidney seemed to be the only one interested in following up there.
February: Sindi's project seem to have a lot of resources of dentists among the YAC exec. board.  Mrs. Clay will talk to Sindi to be prepared to explain her project last year and her plans for February 2014.  She seems to be only interested in PT care packages, not in leading a whole RAK WEEK.  We have not heard from Carleigh regarding this project.

In the Spring: Boys and Girls Club Tennis Clinic, Dylan.  Mrs. Pat Broadfoot wants to talk to players and coaches regarding a possible collaboration between Casady and John Marshall tennis.

Looking forward to Friday.  Hope I have everything we covered!

Round B:  Move to the neighboring boxes and read your peers thoughts.  Repeat it until you get back to your group's own.  Facilitators gave about a minute per box.
Round C: Collaborate with your group create a body sculpture of hunger. No pictures taken! 2 minutes to come up with your sculpture!
Round D: Take turns freeze framing your sculpture and explain.  The rest of the group listened!

Debriefing of Activity:  Effective in engaging all group in brainstorming. the preparation of the room took a long time.
For encouragement of greater creativity, Mr. Crofton recommended encouraging group to focus their body sculpture on what is written in their boxes.  Graciously thank groups spelling words, but guide them to show the meaning of the word, not just the word.

Mrs. Clay thought places where there could be teens interested in in peer to peer education through theatre were YAC, Youth LEAD OKC, and UD Drama classes next trimester.  She requested Yogaish and Sidney to take the conversation had with Mr. Crofton to Youth LEAD meetings. Mr. Crofton will investigate UD drama classes during 7th period for next trimester.

Jessica G. stated that she knew of at least two youth boards that were doing peer to peer education via power point presentations, Hearth Line: Prevention of Teenage Suicide, and the Mental Health Association: Mental illness.

Jessica adjourned the meeting.

12:25: Charities and Balto Week:
Jessica and Katie had a super brief welcome and send everyone to vote for 5 charities YAC will work with this year.

Sidney provided an explanation of what and why this selection was being done.  There was no explanation of how the charities were selected by the board, but members could provide the name of a charity they felt strongly about  in addition to the choices provided.  If the person did not know about a charity they could ask someone who did.  After three selection levels, the chosen organization was Children's Hospital.  YAC chairs will ask support from STUCO and permission from administration to have week similar to BALTO week benefiting Children's Hospital.  Most members did not know about that week and Jessica stated that more information will come at next meeting.

12:42:  YLOKC Opening/Closing: Identity: Who we are and one thing about ourselrves?  Led by Yogaish.  Most people just gave name and grade. Mrs. Clay requested help making pinwheels.

Reflection/Evaluation:
The meeting went well, but there should be more "intentional communication" between the people running the meeting.
Why do we avoid getting to share information about ourselves?
YLOKC first tenant is IDENTITY!!!!!!  How can we bridge differences if we know so little about each other?

News: Reporter Carla Hinton from the Daily Oklahoman called to see what YAC is doing regarding the 12 Days of  Global Unity.  Check details about the days at the home page of this blog.

This item was not discussed at the meeting and decisions need to be made by the end of the day MONDAY.  YAC involvement now is limited to Maggie helping PD, Johnny helping LD and MD.  YAC UD having a bake off, which is only known by a few YAC Exec. Chairs.

An idea from Mrs. Clay is a competition making pinwheels next Friday.  The group of YAC members from the winning grade gets to pick the activity and snack YAC will sponsor for the International Day of Peace , Friday 9/20.  Budget: $60.  Last year it was icees for I SEE PEACE statements.

c. Explanation of "horizontal leadership" was provided by Mrs. Clay.  Check graphic.  Chairs will define responsibilities and expectations.

d. YAC connections to S-L Budget.  Mrs. Clay does not know how much her budget is yet, but $2,000 will be allocated for attendance to National Conferences.  YAC will get $30 for snacks for Friday meetings.  Less food needed for YAC meeting to prevent people coming for the food and leaving.

Project chairs will have to apply for funds for projects like YAC Cares, but it was Gavin's recommendation to look for donations for needed supplies for care packages for YAC Cares initiatives from businesses.  Mrs. Clay will send Gavin a sample letter.

e. Jessica requested donations of corks for a Moore family.  Mrs. Clay gets cork donations for pinwheels from Papa Dios and Metro Restaurants.

f. Any projects, t-shirts, etc. must be approved by administration. When is that going to happen? Who is going to seek a meeting with Dr. B and Coach T.

2. YAC t-shirt:
T-shirt form is ready and was designed by Jessica.  It is just awaiting final list of YAC charities. T-shirt will not go through book bill.  People will order pre-paid t-shirts.  Jessica has a vendor, but Gavin will investigate an alternative. Mrs. Clay suggested to connect to the non-profits that will benefit from YAC service-learning experiences for possible sponsorships.  The T-shirt order form will be made available at the second YAC meeting.

Regarding T-shirts from Aubrey:  " I think for the t-shirts, the kids should have to pay for their t-shirt WITH their order forms. We can make a list of the people who ordered and paid for a shirt so that we are able to keep track. Also so that we make sure that everyone that ordered one received their shirt, and that no one who did not order one receives one. Sundays are ok for us to meet but I have cheerleading practice every Sunday from 4-6. Hasta mañana! "

3. YAC charities -  Start Charity Work:  YAC Cares in October
Names to be placed in back of YAC T-shirt will be finalized during the first YAC meeting.  Jessica will create a form to solicit suggestions in addition the ones already selected by YAC Exec because of their personal commitment to those organizations. Sidney will print them.

Regarding collecting money, an idea for Wednesdays at popular restaurants for lunch with proceeds going to charities like we did with Johnnies Thursdays.  We have to clear any solicitations with the development office to make sure we  are not hindering their fundraising efforts on behalf of Casady School before we approach any one.  Chairs will look into possibilities at their favorite lunch hangouts .  Cool Greens, Saturn Grill, The Shack, Orange Leaf were mentioned.

5. Hours for YAC:  Keep track of them in a time log.  Reflect them on December and May.  Must sign-in to get hours verified! Activities meetings are 30 minutes long.  If anyone has a better system, please share!  HOLI:  Jessica will send thank you notes and she provided hours for organizing group.  Will provide hours for participants later.

8. SKITTLE COMMUNICATION OPENER Ice breaker by YLOKCasady Carleigh and Gavin;
Goal: Get to know each other better
Process: Take as many skittle as you wish, Tell as many things about yourself as skittles in your hand; - or wait- said 5 things about yourself.
Result: We found out many interesting things, even that despite being in the same school, some of us do not know each others names.  Great interactive way to end the meeting.
Reflection and Feedback: Will use trail mix and say as many things as pretzels in hand.  Healthier and the number of things will be less.  Encourage a couple of clarifying questions. Find technique to encourage attentive listening to the speakers.  What can be done with audience on cell phones???

Follow-up E-mail from Mrs. Clay
Thank you to the ones who were able to attend the meeting this morning.  I placed the tentative agenda for the first YAC meeting made by Sidney at http://casadyacleads.blogspot.com/
Agenda of today's meeting at  http://casadyacleads.blogspot.com/p/agendas.html
Minutes at http://casadyacleads.blogspot.com/p/minutes.html .  I will add Sidney's minutes on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Sidney will introduce YAC and Natasha/Maggie.  One of them or both will read the first announcements.
Clarifications after the meeting:
1. YAC Structure:  I am attaching a graphic I made of the YAC executive board.  Hope this explains my application to YAC of Horizontal Organizational Structure.   http://images.vertex42.com/ExcelTemplates/orgcharts/horizontal-organizational-structure.gif
Please send me your personal definition of what the responsibilities and  expectations should be of the position you are in because of your past commitment of time, your willingness to share your skills and leadership gifts to bring YAC back on track. FYI, I am attaching the YLEAD Online guidelines for Chairs and project management.
2. Keeping Track and Reporting of YAC Hours:
In 2013, YAC members should keep track of YAC hours with the time log available at  https://www.casady.org/document.doc?id=590.  The sign-up sheet will verify the veracity of their reports. Hours will be certified twice a year, in December and May reflection meetings. I am open to any suggestions to improve the process!
A Request
Whoever introduces me at the YAC meeting, may I have a shameless plug for  7th hour and after school projects.

Participants: Katie (Seniors) , Jessica, Hunter and Sidney (Juniors), Aubrey, Neely and Majo (Sophomores).  No freshmen

YAC invitational Report and decision making:  Jessica and Mrs. Clay informed about the invitational.  With group consensus, the teens attending decided to have three chairs per grade to form a horizontal capacity building leadership structure.  The group also selected the Chair of chairs based simply on who attended the organizational YAC invitational.  Katie (Seniors), Jessica (Juniors), Sidney(YOLOKC-Casady-founding Member), Aubrey (Sophomores).  We still have no one for freshmen.

Ideas:
T-shirts: We would like to make YAC t-shirts this year.

The idea was to have YAC down the front and then on the back it would be the members of YAC by grade.

        Monthly charities:
We would really like YAC to expand from the food bank and boys and girls club. We were thinking that each week we could have a different organization. Like Casa one week and then WINGS the next.

I believe we had at least 9 organizations that we chose. At our first YAC meeting we would like the YAC members to vote for who they think will benefit most from F-5.

We REALLY want to make F-5 big!!
                With events like
                        Boy bands.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETcPcJzRTGc

Cypress Ranch High School Anti-Bullying Lip Dub "Who Do U Think U R?"

Canned Food Drive (Moeller High School)

love Quest.  The game we played with the couples last year.

Lastly and my favorite by far is the direct service aspect!
Every 2nd Friday of the month is YAC Cares day!
Which means that instead of a YAC meeting we will meet in the student center and do activities such as...
here
        Homeless packs
Place crackers, water bottles, travel size tooth brush and tooth paste, granola bars in a gallon zip lock.
Consider Bible verses and pamphlets on homeless shelters. Hand them out
to the kids that can drive and when they're driving around they hand them out to the homeless.
We need to consider safety and liability issues.  Maybe delivering them to the Homeless Alliance http://www.homelessalliance.org/ will be an option Address: 1724 NW 4th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73106 , Phone:(405) 415-8410, Hours:
Thursday hours 9:00 am–4:00 pm
        diaper packs
ICS is  BOOKED until Spring with volunteers so making diaper packs is the only option. Details forthcoming from Jessica
